Coping with Uni & Student Life
Going to Uni is supposed to be the ‘time of your life’ but for many, the reality is quite different. Struggling to cope? Feeling the pressure? Finding social situations or relationships challenging? Worried about drug or alcohol use or other addictions? Relying on unhealthy coping mechanisms? Feeling isolated and alone?
Do you struggle with addictive behaviour? Do you want to stop a habitual behaviour because you recognise it's not good for you, but seem powerless to stop? Are you engaging in addictive behaviours or seeking instant gratification in ways that are damaging your relationships, your finances or your career? Do you feel helpless to change?
Do you spend an excessive amount of time worrying about a particular aspect of your appearance? Are you very unhappy with your body? Obsess about the way you look? Maybe you go to great lengths at the gym (or even surgically) to correct or improve yourself, or conceal the way you look? Are you constantly comparing yourself to others in ways that leave you feeling terrible?
How to be Happy
Is there something you can do to increase your chances of success and happiness? What would happiness mean for you? Do you search for happiness in places where it can't be found? Are you stuck in a rut? Recognise you're standing in your own way but can't seem to change? This is your complete manual to living life like a pro.
Stress & Anger
Are you living with an anxious, heavy, closing-in feeling of dread, squeezing you so tightly you feel like exploding or escaping? Too much stress can leave you irritable, angry, emotional, unable to concentrate and tired. Stress can also result in you becoming 'lazy', unmotivated and procrastinating about important tasks that need doing, usually the very things responsible for causing your stress. Do you, or someone close to you, have anger issues that are impacting your quality of life? Perhaps you don't feel anger appropriately, or struggle to get angry at all?
Do you struggle with emotions, whether understanding, expressing or controlling them? Would you like to become more emotionally intelligent? Does it feel your emotions are ruling your life rather than you being in control? Do your emotions seem inappropriate for given situations? Perhaps you experience emotional numbness or a stunted ability to feel certain emotions at all?
Do you have issues with food and eating? Do you turn to food as a coping mechanism by either restricting, over-eating or bingeing? Are you extremely controlled about your eating habits? Or conversely do you feel out of control? Do you struggle to maintain a healthy weight? Perhaps you have compulsive thoughts or behaviours around food? Think you have issues with food or might be suffering from an eating disorder?
Loneliness & Isolation
Loneliness describes a terrible, unwanted feeling of disconnection or separateness from other people. Do you long for the pleasure of other people's company and often feel sad, despairing and alone? Isolation can happen by choice and is sometimes healthy, but spending too much time alone can have serious consequences for your mental health.
My Life Scripts – Schema Therapy
Schema Therapy is effective for a wide-range of emotional and psychological issues. 'Schemas' are essentially the mental images you hold about yourself, a set of ideas about your worth and beliefs or fears about the ways others will treat you. The course explores your life story and enables you to form a coherent understanding with deeper insights into your triggers and feelings in relationships.
Do you have a lot of debt or struggle with money in ways that cause you considerable distress and feelings of shame? Does your financial status negatively impact your self esteem? Are you hiding your spending habits or financial difficulties from others? Does it feel as though you are drowning in money problems and unable to cope? Is it difficult for you to manage your money and meet your financial commitments?
Grief & Loss
Grief is something experienced when losing something or someone that you love, whether through unfortunate life events or death, illness or relationships breaking down. It's an excruciating experience involving painful emotions of sadness, loneliness, numbness, confusion, hopelessness and despair.
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Do you feel hijacked by incessant anxious thoughts about bad things that might happen? Do you try to quieten excessive worry by attending to certain tasks repetitively, in an effort to avoid negative consequences and feel more in control? Are some of the things you do recognisably excessive or irrational and yet you can't stop yourself? Do you fixate on disturbing thoughts that won't leave you alone?
My Wounded Inner Child
This course may sound like psycho-babble, but in fact offers a comprehensive, in-depth journey of exploration that gets to the heart of your problems and heals them at a deep level, in a long-lasting way. If you'd like to address your issues at their core, make sense of your childhood and past, move on from trauma, understand the dynamics of your family of origin and develop deep self awareness, then this course is for you.
